S.E. Shires AZS8 Trumpet 

 Check out this shires AZS8 that's just come in! This is a variation of the ever popular model A featuring a slightly squarer bell bend, that produces a broad and brilliant sound. The S8 on this model denotes a steel wire in the bell bead. This horn has a slightly sharper and crisper tone resulting in a more controlled and clear sound. 

This particular horn comes to us on consignment and it is in great shape. There is some minor scratching on the body and inside the bell from stand/mute insertion. There are also a few barely visible pings in the bell flare. Beyond this it looks great and plays great!

It produces a brilliant, broad tone of medium density with marvelous projection and easy response. The WH leadpipe provides and ideal combination of stability and flexibility; its free-blowing character compliments the centered bell taper. Nickel-silver balusters and valve caps add brilliance and character to the sound, increase its core, and contribute to cleanness and immediacy of attack. This trumpet makes a great choice as an all-around instrument for performance in a wide variety of musical settings."

• Model AZ Bell: 4 13⁄16 inch, one piece, hand-hammered “A” (centered) taper in standard-weight yellow brass with traditionally brazed (side) seam, standard bead, and dual radius bend S8 Denotes a Steel wire in the bell. 

• WH Leadpipe: .347-inch venturi, heavyweight yellow brass; open and free blowing with well-defined slots and easy response

• W Tuning Slide: dual-radius bend, standard water key; strong core, brilliance, and presence of sound

• Piston Material: hand-lapped Monel

• Valve Cluster: two-piece casings, standard weight, with nickel-silver balusters

• Lower Valve Caps: nickel silver

• Bell Engraving: S.E. Shires makers mark, model designation, and traditional floral pattern

• Finish: silver plate
