These practice mutes are available in a variety of colors as you can see from the photos. We have more of them in black, so that will be our default, but please let us know if you'd like a different color and we will accommodate requests as much as possible. About Ewan Divitt
Ewan Divitt is a trumpet player, composer, arranger, brass instrument repair technician, and entrepreneur. Ewan has performed with Michael and Randy Brecker, Bill Holman, and Dave Holland. He has studied trumpet with Scott Harrison, Brian O'Kane, and Steve Crowe. He has also studied arranging with Andy Ballantyne, and John MacLeod. Ewan is an in-demand trumpet player in Toronto, and has recorded on many albums, demos, and music videos, played live on the radio and international live television, and toured with musical acts all over Ontario and Quebec. Ewan also leads his own big band that features many of the finest up and coming players in Toronto. The band plays original compositions and arrangements by Ewan and other band members.

Divitt practice mute.
Wow! What a great mute. While it may not be the most quiet practice mute out there, it still dampens the sound considerably, is in tune, and amazingly feels like your not even playing on a mute!

Divitt Trumpet Practice Mute
The Divitt Practice Mute is a revelation. I've tried many practice mutes overt the years, and the Divitt is the first that feels almost as open as playing without a practice mute, and it doesn't have the intonation problems I've run into with pretty much ever other practice mute I've tried. It's not quite a quiet as the EZ Bucket Practice Mute I've been using (the best I've tried until now), but the Divitt is still plenty quiet and plays so much better that the EZB will go in my closet. I did a full hour of practice last night in my home office while my wife was doing a ZOOM tutoring call down the hall, and she said it wasn't a problem at all. Awesome product. Thanks!!!

Best Practice Mute
Best practice mute I've ever used, the resistance is much better than the Yamaha silent brass I used to have, now I can practice in my apartment.

Divitt Practice Mute
I really like this mute. It is not as quiet as my sshh mute but I don't usually need to be that quiet and it plays and sounds much better. It feels similar to a harmon but quieter.

Worth the Wait
Had to wait for it awhile but I have not been disappointed. Plays way more in tune and open than the Ssshmute I was using. I have it on the horn more than any mute I've owned since I started back up. My dogs thank you.

THE best practice I now own (sound wise), just not small enough to fit in my gig bag like my Best Brass practice mute (ANOTHER mute you guys sell)!!!!!

Low back-pressure and near performance-quality practice mute
Breathes very nicely for the in-staff register and high notes. Enforces good breathing discipline in lower registers. Sounds very nearly like my Harmon mute, with just a bit of ‘deadness’ which is the trade-off for less restrictive flow. Probably still a bit too loud for travelers who don’t want to disturb their hotel neighbors. The taper delivers a snug fit that is secure even with a compact-trumpet’s shallower bell. Highly recommended.

Divitt Practice Mute
This a great mute. It looks, feels and play like a Harmon Mute but more in tune. Has very little back pressure like other practice mutes and does great at cutting the volume of my horn. I still like my ShhhMute for middle of the night practice sessions when I can't sleep so I don't wake up anybody in the house. However, on the days when I need to use a practice mute so I don't drive anyone crazy, this is my first choice. If I ever start gigging again I am going to consider using this instead of my Harmon mute and see what happens.
