"Trent,I thought you should know how much I like my new Divitt practice mute. I can work on my horn in the same room as my kids studying or my wife on a conference call and nobody is bothered. Moreover, it doesn't have the two problems every other practice mute I've ever used has - intonation problems and feeling like I'm blowing through cotton balls. Thanks for featuring it on YouTube!"
- Derek Christenson

"I ordered one of these 3D printed Divitt mutes and it is fantastic! Beautiful quiet tone with no intonation issues or back pressure - sounds so nice you could record with it."

Best practice mute to date (I own the new Yamaha Silent Brass). Plays extremely open, but isn't too loud. It's louder than the Silent Brass, but a little quieter than a harmon. The tone is quite like a harmon, which makes practicing a little more fun! A keeper for sure!

    Divitt practice mute.

Wow! What a great mute. While it may not be the most quiet practice mute out there, it still dampens the sound considerably, is in tune, and amazingly feels like your not even playing on a mute!

    Divitt Trumpet Practice Mute

The Divitt Practice Mute is a revelation. I've tried many practice mutes overt the years, and the Divitt is the first that feels almost as open as playing without a practice mute, and it doesn't have the intonation problems I've run into with pretty much ever other practice mute I've tried. It's not quite a quiet as the EZ Bucket Practice Mute I've been using (the best I've tried until now), but the Divitt is still plenty quiet and plays so much better that the EZB will go in my closet. I did a full hour of practice last night in my home office while my wife was doing a ZOOM tutoring call down the hall, and she said it wasn't a problem at all. Awesome product. Thanks!!!

    Best Practice Mute

Best practice mute I've ever used, the resistance is much better than the Yamaha silent brass I used to have, now I can practice in my apartment.

    Divitt Practice Mute

I really like this mute. It is not as quiet as my sshh mute but I don't usually need to be that quiet and it plays and sounds much better. It feels similar to a harmon but quieter.

    Worth the Wait

Posted by Doug P on 23rd Mar 2021

Had to wait for it awhile but I have not been disappointed. Plays way more in tune and open than the Ssshmute I was using. I have it on the horn more than any mute I've owned since I started back up. My dogs thank you.

Low back-pressure and near performance-quality practice mute

Posted by Ken Mora on 22nd Mar 2021

Breathes very nicely for the in-staff register and high notes. Enforces good breathing discipline in lower registers. Sounds very nearly like my Harmon mute, with just a bit of ‘deadness’ which is the trade-off for less restrictive flow. Probably still a bit too loud for travelers who don’t want to disturb their hotel neighbors. The taper delivers a snug fit that is secure even with a compact-trumpet’s shallower bell. Highly recommended.
