AR Resonance Backbores are offered in their standard backbore sizing (this is for the backbore, not the shank/taper)
S -Small
M - Medium
L -Large
FL = large morse taper
FS = small taper
Backbores are available with small (Bach), big (Yamaha) and Couesnon shanks with our usual Small, Medium and Large sizes.
Each backbore is compatible with any of AR tops/rim diameters and shape as long as the throat (40, 42, or 46) match. We prefer matching the big throats to deep cups to have that typical European super dark sound. Shallower cups and tighter throats can be useful for those that mainly play trumpet and occasionally double on flugel. But each player is different. Contact us if you have questions about what might be best for you (we recommend making an appointment at the shop if possible - schedule an appointment HERE)
We offer three metals/materials as standard options. Most players choose to match their backbore material to the same material as their top (example, a brass top with a brass backbore)
All backbores come standard silver plated. Any gold plating is "after market" gold plating and will be a polished gold plate (these are custom orders and take an additional 2 to 3 weeks to ship)
