The R2 small bore (.510) trombone is one of Rath's most popular small-bore tenor trombones and is ideal for the trombonist who wants an instrument they can play as soloist or sit any chair (except bass trombone) in a big band. This would be a fantastic trombone for playing in a salsa ensemble, funk band, NOLA style brass band, rock band, pit orchestra, or any other setting where you want a trombone that has vibrant energy with a great core sound! Wonderful trombone that will meet the demands of large ensemble or small group playing.
The photos shown are from the last R2 we had in the shop (it sold pretty quickly - no surprise with how good it played).

The energy from this trombone is intense but the depth of the tone allows for a wide range of expression. The R2 plays with an energy, and great clarity, in even the quietest of dynamics but will allow you to rip it at loud dynamics without getting an overly crass tone. It is right at home playing a sweet ballad or a hot funk tune! The slide action is fantastic too.
Sold with case. Does not come with a mouthpiece.
