Description
The Versatile Schilke B1-L!
From a rich, full bodied dark sound to a brilliant ringing tone.
The B1 Traditional Custom Series trumpet was the preferred Bb trumpet of Renold O. Schilke, and the basis in design for all other B series instruments. Introduced in 1956, the B1 trumpet is among the most popular models, distinguished by its free and open feel from the reverse leadpipe and rounded full radius bend tuning slide. With the combination of a medium-large bore and a large throat bell, this design allows the player the diversity in sound color from a rich, full bodied dark sound to a brilliant ringing tone when desired, making the B1 a versatile, all-around instrument. This B1-L Variant features a Beryllium tunable bell!
This one is pre owned and is in great shape still. There is some fading in the gold plate and only some minor scratching around the horn. Otherwise it looks great has great compression and is in need of a new home. Pick this one tip today!
From Schilke:
"The Schilke Custom Series Bb Trumpets (also known as the B & X Series) were designed by Renold O. Schilke and date back his founding of our company. These models feature a lightweight design with minimal bracing, round main tuning slide and reverse leadpipe. Custom Series trumpets are lauded for a natural brilliance, or “shimmer,” to their sound, an ease of playing, consistent “feel” from top to bottom of the horn and superior intonation."
"The Custom Series is often viewed as a spectrum of models. With a choice of bell taper and bore size, every musician can find the right “feel” for them. Designed with versatility in mind, these models are great for classical, chamber, solo, jazz or commercial music. Custom Series Bb Trumpets have been played by the world’s great musicians for 60+ years."
