Check out this awesome Flip Oakes Wild Thing trumpet that's just arrived in the shop!
The Wild Thing was built by Kanstul, but it's Flip Oakes' original design. A couple of the key features are the very open throat on the bell and the overall bell taper (standard 5" diameter at the rim), as well as the rounded single braced main tuning slide. This one is the later second generation model. This horn does show signs that the lacquer was stripped at some point. There are no dents or dings on this horn, the valves have had a Reeves PVA and still have great compression. The slides move smoothly and the slides move comfortably as well.
This horn still, looks and sounds amazing and was a well-cared-for instrument that the previous owner loved to play! Geared more toward the commercial player but with good versatility.
These horns tend not to last long, so pick it up today!
