It features a .748 inch to .787 inch bore profile, a 19 inch upright yellow brass bell, four front-action pistons, and a fifth rotary valve for extended low-range facility and alternate fingerings. A graduated bore is simply a bore that gets larger through the piston or rotor block. Graduated bores allow players to use air more efficiently as the bore of the piston or rotor aligns with the tubing coming out of the casing - so air is not wasted or choked off. This also results in better response, smoother passages, and secure intonation across the entire range of the horn.
