"I bought the Doublers Cornet in the brushed satin finish and it sounds as nice as it looks. I use a deep Yamaha 14E mouthpiece and get a gorgeous, dark sound. Great horn for brass band. Sometimes I play the cornet instead of my flugelhorn in the church orchestra." -Bill Bjornes, Jr.

The ACB Doubler's line makes expanding your musical horizons easy and affordable. The ACB Model Doubler's cornet is designed for easy switching from trumpet or flugelhorn. You'll instantly feel right at home thanks to the standard ML bore (.459"), 4.685" yellow brass bell, and fixed third valve slide ring and first valve slide saddle. If you're looking for a more typical "British brass band" style set-up with the large bore and tuning triggers, check out our Dual Trigger model Doubler's cornet. Doublers cornet

Posted by Kevin Rabon on 11th Feb 2024

Guys in the shop were great! Actually upgraded me to a better horn. Horn plays great and has very smooth valves with a great sound. Only issue I’ve had is with emptying condensation. Water doesn’t travel/empty well; need to pull tubing slide to empty. Other than that, the horn is great!

    Beautiful Looking and Sounding Cornet

Posted by Keith Burrows on 18th Oct 2021

I’ve played trumpet for over 50 years and have a collection of 16 horns. I originally ordered this cornet in gold Matt finish, but was contacted and let know the shipment of those horns did not pass the play test….so I ended up getting upgraded to the silver plated model. I am very happy with this horn! It is very solid and is in perfect playing condition. I like the fact that it has a 3rd slide ring and a first valve saddle just like my trumpets, making it easy to switch back and forth. I was surprised at the rich full sound I got right out of the box just using the mouthpiece that came with it. I have another Denis Wick mouthpiece that gives an even darker sound, but I think I like the sound and feel of the stock mouthpiece that came with it. It’s been awhile since I’ve had a cornet so I’m getting g used to how much closer the horn is to me. This horn is definitely in the category of horns that cost double the price. Austin did a great job of fine tuning and valve alignment on it. This horn is a keeper!
