Soulo Mute

With its distinct soulful sound, perfect pitch and lack of back pressure, Soulo has come to be essential for every pro brass player's mute arsenal. Its versatility, ease of use and sleek contour have made it popular among jazz, orchestral and commercial players.


Soulo Mute has been making its way through high schools and universities, professionals and students, quickly becoming the preferred bucket. It is used by trumpet icons Herb Alpert, Wayne Bergeron, Roger Ingram, Kiku Collins, Jens Lindenmann, Chuck Findley and also the Oscars Trumpet Section.

Soulo Mute is designed and handcrafted by Mike Jarosz, a professional trumpet player who has performed and recorded with a diverse group of artists including Maynard Ferguson, LL Cool J, Los Lonely Boys, Frankie Valli, Jennifer Lopez, Will Smith and others. Currently, Mike is touring with "The Midtown Men", a 60's review show featuring the original NY cast of Broadway's Jersey Boys.

Soulo Mute is currently being sold on 4 continents - North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Trumpet players from around the world are sharing their experience in using it as a bucket. Many are abandoning their less practical old buckets, replacing them with Soulo.

    I have found this mute to be a superior alternative to the Jo-Ral bucket, especially in terms of intonation… you won’t go flat playing this mute! Soulo makes excellent mutes (I have the harmon and cup as well), and they are certainly worthy of the attention (and price tag).

    Sounds so good in both the closed and open positions! Intonation is stable and no resistance. Killing mute!

    Compared to the old "horse feeder" buckets, or even metal buckets... this mute is in a league of its own! Phenomenal sound, regardless of which setting you choose, which is an awesome idea! Great intonation, does not significantly change the blow, and light weight. Fit perfect on my XO 1600i, however it is a little tight when putting it on my Connstellation 28A. The material is flexible so it does fit, but the shape of the mute changes a bit. Still plays and sounds fantastic.
