These horns are quite rare as they were only produced between 1918 and 1923! It is very rare to have one of these come into the shop, especially in this condition. This one looks to have been restored (valve piston replate, relacquer). It has a patch on the 2nd slide, some minor lacquer wear. It takes a trumpet mouthpiece (many of them took a cornet shank). One of it's main features is a rotor valve that changes the instrument between Bb and A. A staple for the vintage trumpet collection!

Features:

Conical Bore

Bb/A quick change valve

Trumpet shank reciever

Valve replate

Metal Valve Guides

This instrument came from the personal collection of celebrated trumpeter David Kuehn. His collection is being auctioned to benefit an endowment that will support the ‘Midwest Trumpet Festival’ . Each year, under the direction of Dr. Todd J. Hastings, the Midwest Trumpet Festival's mission is to gather leading performers, educators, students, and community for an intensive time of large and small continuing education sessions, master classes, recitals, and concerts.

The Midwest Trumpet Festival has exposed the midwest trumpet community to the likes of famed trumpeters such as Vince DeMartino, Allen Vizzutti, Wayne Bergeron, Claudio Roditi, Bobby Shew, David Hickman, Joe Burgstaller, Ryan Anthong, Lonnie McFadden, Trent Austin, and SO many more over the years.

The proceeds of this auction will directly benefit the trust that was put in place to support the Midwest Trumpet Festival, and will help to memorialize David Kuehn’s contribution to the trumpet community.
