Description

Match our V cup with your favorite ACB rim!

One of the first things I wanted to do in my mouthpiece series was to create a line of mouthpieces that mix comfortable modern rims with the GREAT sound and efficiency of the old Heim cup. The cup of our V series is similar to my TA-1 cup, except deeper. It produces an extremely warm sound with efficiency you would never think possible!

Check out rims and comparisons here!

Each product listed will have the "V" cup matched with the rim you choose:

For example, if you select "3C" in the drop down menu, you will get our 3C rim with the "V" cup shape.

Since these are truly custom mouthpieces please allow 7-9 weeks for each piece.

We can also make you a mouthpiece with our "V" cup and a custom rim size, contact us to chat about this!

TA Lead V series trumpet mouthpiece

Posted by Al on 15th Feb 2022

Plays very well with more projection out of the bell - I hear less behind. Opened up a couple more notes above high C and easier to play. I do like the rim as more comfortable than my Bach 3S commercial. Found harder then the Bach to be precise in low notes under the staff, such as lowest A. Along with the mouthpiece I am using a KGU medium weight booster. I like that I can glissando and the top notes slot (I did have to adjust with my Jupiter XO 1600i leadpipe since as received, with this mouthpiece I had zero leadpipe gap. Made it so now about 1/16 inch so better slotting for me)

    Fantastic jazz mouthpiece!

Posted by Bob Miller on 4th May 2019

I picked up a 1.25C-V recently, and am very happy with the sound and feel of this mouthpiece. Not nearly as deep as a hybrid trumpet/flugel cup. Easy to get that dark rich sound without losing range or the overall core of your sound. Great mouthpiece!

    MV 3C V

Posted by Michal on 25th Feb 2019

What happened when mixing Austin's great MV 3C rim with Austin's amazing V series / TA-1 / Heim? Miracle for me! I looking for this sound, flexibility, and character a long time ago. Contrast sound between high, deep, sharp or soft is so easy now. Most perfect amplifier - when you play thin - the sound is like angel hair - when you play widely or deep; maybe human power is only one limitation. For me, this mouthpiece doesn't play soft - only allows play soft. Very silky and soft if you want. But on the other hand - you can take a saw. This V profile is a very strong motor. Efficient. Beware of bugs. Sorry for my English . ) Thank you, Austin, Chris ... M

    great mouthpiece

Posted by Guillaume M. on 3rd Jun 2016

I ordered the 3CV in modern blank. It took only 10 days to be shipped to Europe. About the mouthpiece: I am not an "old" trumpeter, but so far I was using a yamaha bobby Shew Jazz mouthpiece. What I can tell is that ACB one is really rim-comfortable (rim shape is softer), and plays great. I find it easier than the yamaha one (for me of course), and it sounds great ! Do not hesitate to try this out !

    3cv

Posted by Jacob Wisenbach on 8th Nov 2015

I recently ordered a 3cv from Trent in a modern blank. It's extremely comfortable rim wise, and the sound is great. I was looking for something in-between my 3ctf and 3c. This is perfect! For any real Chet, Miles, or Clark fan out there this is a great mouthpiece for that sort of sound.

Orchestral sound with a 3 rim

Posted by Capt. Z on 2nd Apr 2015

I just got the ACB 3CV a few days ago and already used it during my own rehearsals and band rehearsal. I personally prefer a nice full and warm sound and the 3CV does just that without sounding dull.
