The ACB Doubler's instruments might not be your custom handmade horns, but they're unbeatable quality at the price point! They're designed for (and used by) professional players who need reliable tools for the job. They're also perfect for amateurs players who want an enjoyable toy for variety! These instruments are designed to make it easy to switch between different horns on the gig.
The ACB Doubler’s line is made by a great factory that we work with in China. The Doubler’s instruments are built to our specifications, then optimized here at our Kansas City shop before we ship them to you. We align the valves on every Doubler’s instrument prior to shipment with durable synthetic pads. We also do a full ultrasonic cleaning and perform several other optimizations. Finally, each horn is play-tested to make sure that when you open the box, your new instrument is ready to go.
Due to the large number of options available with this bundle it's possible that your entire order may not ship immediately. Please email us or call us at 816-410-0826 for more information on shipping and delivery timelines.
Ever wished you had a flugelhorn, but couldn’t find a great option that fit your budget?
The ACB Doubler’s flugelhorn is a high quality, professional instrument that performs above and beyond its affordable price point. This instrument was initially designed for professional players who needed to double on flugelhorn occasionally. That meant we had to focus on reliability, consistency, and of course a great sound!
But this isn’t just a great flugel for the jazz soloist or commercial musician.
The Doubler’s flugel is being used by everyone from hobbyist comeback players who just want to relax after work to full-time symphony players who only need a flugel a couple times per year. You’ll find the Doubler’s flugelhorn in British-style brass bands, big band sections, pit orchestras, church groups, and brass quintets.
You might not need a $3,000 flugelhorn, but that shouldn’t keep you from having a great playing, great sounding horn. The Doubler’s is the best value flugelhorn you can find! You will not find another inexpensive flugel with as many optimizations.
We went with a 6-inch diameter bell that’s almost 100% copper and a classic .413-inch bore. The result is a flugel with great slotting and intonation, and a sound our customers describe as fat, mellow, smoky, smooth, and warm.
We're excited to offer this great entry level cornet in our ever-popular ACB Doubler's line! This cornet has a yellow brass bell (4.685 inches) and a .459 bore. The slightly smaller bell and bore make this model an easy switch from your trumpet or flugel work. Many players also find that the thumb saddle and third valve slide ring fit their muscle memory better than the dual trigger design. The shepherd's crook bell adds warmth and depth to the tone and broadens your articulation palette.
We spent a lot of time and iterations working with our factory to get these cornets just how we wanted them. Perfect with a short shank mouthpiece, this horn has a wonderfully rich sound and very smooth response. This is a perfect option for brass band playing if you don't want to spend 3-4K on a world-class cornet. The large bore and dual trigger design will be right at home in a brass band, brass chamber group, church ensemble, and even for trad jazz playing! The shepherd's crook bell adds warmth and depth to the tone and broadens your articulation palette. The bore size and bell flare are a little bit bigger on this horn than on the "ACB Model" doubler's cornet.
The ACB Doubler's Piccolo is perfect if you want a great playing professional piccolo trumpet without spending upwards of $2,000-$3,000 for a horn you might only need a few days per year. This is a horn that can start paying for itself after only a few wedding/holiday gigs. Our Doubler's piccolo trumpet is also very popular with serious amateur players. With the combination of quality and price point, this is a great opportunity to get into piccolo trumpet playing just for fun. We have them built to our specs, then optimize and playtest each one at our shop before shipping. Each horn comes with a semi-hard gig bag-esque case and an unbranded stock mouthpiece.
