TORPEDO BAG CLASSIC (nylon)

  • This is our original best seller. Protective beyond belief and under 6 pounds, this is the case used by thousands of professional and student players around the world, including Beyonce and Michael Bolton's trumpet player, Kiku Collins. It really does hold up a mid-size car, but weighs less than most "box" cases. To date, we have never heard of a trumpet getting damaged inside this case--the reputation is deserved and truthful. If in doubt, watch THE TORPEDO BAG TRILOGY, below (Part III Coming Soon).
  • D-Rings are nearly 1/4" thick, and sewn load bearing attachment points are sewn in both directions. It's hard to explain, but this allows the stress load to be cut in half, and improves the angle pulling against the thread. No one else does this. Please see the closeup photo, below.
  • Interior storage compartment for mouthpieces and other "stuff" (cell phone, valve oil, etc.). This pocket conforms to the shape of the interior padding, holding your trumpet perfectly in place.
  • This case come with the ample Mute Bag, the Music Pouch, a shoulder strap, and back pack straps. Rides great on a bike.

    Very protective do-everything bag

Posted by Nick Thomas on 2nd Jun 2023

When I want a bag that offers maximum protection to my horn and has room for everything I bring to a gig this is my go-to. I had one about 15 years ago before taking a break from playing trumpet. I regretted selling it. It's very light for the big job it does; lots of room for mouthpieces, a towel, ear plugs, oil, mutes, music, food and water. The shoulder straps are super comfy and it comes with an optional single strap too. Why don't more manufacturers make an all-in-one bag like this? It's perfect for my needs and when traveling with other heavy weight gear in the van that could land on top of the bag. Thank you ACB!

    Torpedo Bag

Nice & sturdy. A little bigger / bulkier then a standard gig bag but significantly more protection for the horn. Can be stowed away on buses planes without worries

Since setting my heart on getting a Torpedo Bag Classic, I have done a fair amount of market research before placing the order with Trent. I was most impressed by ACB's professionalism in every aspect throughout the whole transaction. The bag has arrived within 10 days all the way to my door step in a small town in Australia from America as promised. Thank you Trent for your warm yet direct and efficient approach. Your have great communication style! I have no hesitation to recommend ACB to all my musician friends.

Great case, great trumpet store to deal with

Posted by Steve on 7th May 2016

Really excellent response from Austin Custom Brass getting me this case quickly; they even emailed me status before, during and after shipment to make sure I was 100% satisfied with the order. For protecting a trumpet this is the real deal. Living in upstate New York and traveling by air 3-4 times a year, because I'm on smaller jets all carry-ons are subject to being checked at the gate. Therefore up until now I always had to take a beater horn, not my good horn, should passengers be forced to check carry-ons at the gate. With this case I know my good trumpet is protected whether I keep it on-board or should I be forced to check it at the gate. I have seen pictures of trumpet players forced to check their trumpet case, and carrying a bare trumpet (or 2!) on board with no case! Let's hope it doesn't come to that.
