The following is a prime example of Roy Lawler’s fantastic instruments.

This horn was used on the road by Al Green’s  Trumpeter from 2008-2017 and is a fine player.   This trumpet is cool as it has a modular Screw bell system with two bells:

a #5 Bell in brushed lacquer
a #6R bell in a custom one-of-a-kind finish

This horn also has a 1a  leadpipe.

The Getzen valves are super smooth, responsive, and have great compression overall.    The horn has seen some use and has a few issues you should be aware of:

There’s some red rot in the leadpipe and tuning slide.  On the Magnahelic machines the horn still seals perfectly but it is something to be aware of.
There’s signs of ding removal and also some small dings and pings on the horn as well.

There’s no case or mouthpiece included in this sale

Some more info from Lawler:

All Lawler TL models made since 2003 have what I consider the best valve sections made. They are made for me by the Getzen Company.  Over my 25 years in the brass instrument business I have always felt that the Getzen company designed and made the fastest acting and care free valves on the market. I now offer the best in my trumpets.

What does the TL stand for?

The TL stands for the person who inspired me to continue to make my trumpets even better!

My wife TYSH LAWLER

BELLS

Bell #5: 5" rim large taper yellow brass seamless construction. This bell has a fat full bright sound. It is not a this bright but full of color but when pushed it will geta full bright sound.

Bell #6: 4 3/4" rim yellow brass seamless bell with a large taper. This ia a great bell for section and combo work as it has a dark full sound. It will lead the section when pushed but its color lends itself to having more mids in the sound.

#1 Leadpipe: The #1 taper is the most popular of my pipes as it is a very even taper from beginning to end. This allows for the best note center and intonation. The venturi opening (small end) is .340 most players like the venturi at .345 This number can be altered to the players blow desires.  (the 1a is the larger of these venturis)
