The Conn Connstellation is legendary, and for good reason! One of the great things about these horns is how flexible this horn is depending on what equipment you pair with it. Use a nice deep mouthpiece and you get a rich and beautiful cornet sound, but put in a slightly smaller piece and you get a wonderful bright sound that is closer to what you would get out of a trumpet.
This is an awesome horn in great shape, definitely one every player should have in their collection! This horn does present with a bit of use but is still in great shape for its age! there are some minor pings around the bell and bell stem, knuckle of the main tuning slide, the main tuning slide, and the 1st valve slide. Beyond this the horn is in great cosmetic shape and plays even better. The compression on this horn is very good but would benefit from a thicker oil such as Berp bio oil. "The 28A Connstellation has been described as the "secret weapon" or "hidden gem" among the Connstellations. I know of several people who prefer it above the 38B Connstellation trumpet. For one, by using various different mouthpieces the sound can varied between bright trumpet and mellow cornet, much more so than on a trumpet."
