Kansas City Trumpet Company 'Presentation' Model Trumpet in Satin Combo Lacquer with Hand Engraved Bell!

 This model exists for the solo player. If you are looking for a wide, warm sound, then look no further! While the 1/YS trumpet is for the commercial player, this horn is the exact opposite. It is inspired by Wynton Marsalis' sound from the Jazz Messengers, which is one of my all time favorite trumpet sounds. This horn features a fully hand engraved bell, and a sterling silver leadpipe!

This horn is catered towards the small group soloist. It would generally not fit in an orchestral setting, as the sound is wider and warmer when compared to conventional trumpets. It has a big sound across all registers, and can even brighten up when pushed/used with a commercial mouthpiece. This instrument also features custom acrylic fingerbutton inlays!

SPECIFICATIONS:

Bore - This trumpet is a ML, .460" bore trumpet.

Receiver - KCTC trumpets all feature a unique mouthpipe receiver that is longer towards the player then a standard trumpet receiver. The length of the overall mouthpipe remains standard, but more of the shank is surrounded by the receiver than on a standard trumpet. This results in improved slotting and stability across all registers. It is very similar to the effects of an integrated mouthpiece. 2 Leadpipe - this leadpipe is more open than our 1 leadpipe. It provides a bigger sound, and less resistance. We find that it works quite well with the YB bell. This leadpipe is also made of sterling silver! It provides such an amazing color to the sound of the horn!

YB Bell - affectionately nicknamed "Biggie", this bell produces a very wide sound! This bell taper is very unique, and is almost like a scaled up piccolo trumpet bell. It is made of yellow brass, has a french bead, and 5.5" flare. It is a one piece, side seam bell. It has a huge warm sound that doesn't break up at loud volumes. This one is also hand engraved with gorgeous floral patterns!

Nickel Tuning Slide - This single braced nickel tuning slide provides some stability and precision to the attack. It balances well with the YB bell! This horn also features a super cool saturn waterkey!

Nickel Z Braces - Our Z braces are made of 1 piece cast nickel, with a wide footprint, paying homage to makers like Calicchio and Benge. They provide great stability, and the nickel improves the slotting of the horn.

Adams Valveblock - Wonderfully handcrafted in the Netherlands, the Adams valve block is of superb quality. Formerly known as Bauerfeind, many manufactures have used this valveblock in the past. We are very thankful to have such a wonderful relationship with Adams Musical Instruments.
