Austin Custom Brass is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic shop assistant to help with daily duties in this busy retail brass musical instrument shop. Responsibilities include:
Helping clients find the trumpet, mouthpiece, or accessory that fits their needs. Prior Musical experience is not a must but highly encouraged.
Processing online orders for instruments, mouthpieces, and accessories, including acknowledging the order and packing and shipping the merchandise.
Assist with instrument cleanings. Handling of sharp objects is needed.
Receive shipments and keep an inventory of products. One must be able to lift comfortably shipments of 50 lbs on occasion.
Add products and descriptions to the online store.
Our shop requires visual acuity, physical ability to lift objects, climb stairs, work in loud environments occasionally, and be able to adept quickly to the ever-changing needs of the shop.
A trustworthy and independent self-starter is key, as the Shop Assistant may work alone on some days. Knowledge of brass instruments is a must; prior retail or customer service experience is desired.
All position openings will work a minimum of 20 hours per week. The hourly pay range is commensurate with experience.
