Here's a neat Schilke trumpet, it's a S42 from Trent's collection!
You might know his rule with his own collection: "One in, one out" and another trumpet is tempting him a ton lately so this beautiful instrument is up for sale.
This horn is in wonderful condition overall with just some light scratches and only a few tiny superficial dings.
Horn has had a precision valve alignment done as well.
Here is how Trent describes this horn:
"While this setup might seem to only be suited for lead and commercial work the Gold Plate truly adds a magnificent shimmer to the sound. The medium bore is so easy to play and with different mouthpieces you can use this in almost any musical situation. I even used this horn for a brass quintet gig recently that required a ton of endurance and this horn made it a breeze! As you may or may not know one of my trumpet heroes, Ryan Kisor, also used this model for many years playing lead with the LCJO. With the price of gold these days this horn would easily cost over $6000 today. Scoop it up today for a great price."

The S42 S Series Bb Trumpet was introduced in 1983. This model benefitted from advice and feedback from Jon Faddis, and was played by him for more than 20 years, until the development of the S43HDL-F Faddis Model. The S42 offers an efficient design, ideal for the lead player.

Introduced in 1983, the S Series Bb Trumpets were the brainchild of Renold E. Schilke, son of our founder Renold O. Schilke, and Owner of Schilke Music Products from 1982 until his retirement in 2002. Designed in collaboration with Jon Faddis, members of the Chicago Symphony Trumpet Section and other prominent musicians of the time, S Series Bb Trumpets offer a different feel for the player. A more cylindrical design, modified tuning slide and soldered bead wire provide a more focused feel and slightly denser “core” sound in comparison to the Custom Series Bb Trumpets.
