Are you looking for an excellent condition Bach Stradivarius but don't want to spend over 4K?
This is the horn you should check out!
This is an excellent condition Bach Artisan Stradivarius model in silver plate that just came in recently via consignment. The horn is in silver plate and has just a few tiny scratches around the body of the horn but notably inside the bell flare. Beyond this, the horn is in excellent shape, no dents or dings and the valve action and compression is wonderful.
The Artisan Stradivarius has some great design features, like a two-piece valve block, two sets of valve guides (brass and plastic) to help you dial in the response, and a tone-enhancing ring for the third valve bottom cap that lets you adjust the mass distribution without going all the way to a heavy cap. The third valve slide stop rod has been extended, allowing you to play low F (necessary for the Carmen prelude excerpt, for example). The design of the Artisan series is distinguished from the basic 180/190 Bachs by the artistic bell logo engraving, first valve slide split ring, and "enhanced radius" rounded ferrules (adds a little extra mass to the horn). With a classic silver plated finish, one-piece hand-hammered bell, and a .459" ML bore, this horn is well suited for almost any musical environment you can think of.
