Here we have an Olds Super Trumpet that has just arrived to us on consignment. This is such a fun horn and always great to have in the shop. Known for its exceptional sound quality and craftsmanship, this model stands as a testament to the great legacy of Olds.
This horn is in good shape considering its vintage but has seen a bit of use. This horn is mostly in raw brass but has some highlights in clear lacquer. Both the raw and lacquer areas have wear/scratching from usage over the years but is in overall good shape for its vintage. The 2nd and 3rd slides both have very small pings in them. The bell also has a very small bend at the edge of the flare. Beyond this, it looks great and plays wonderfully. The valves action is great, and the slides all move freely. The compression is fair but this horn would do better with a thicker oil such as Berp Bio oil #3.
