Vintage LA 1961 Olds Super Bb Cornet in lacquer: Cool horn
These are great playing and sounding horns - these Olds Super horns are quite popular among vintage horn players and were one of the most popular horns of their time. This particular horn is in very good + shape with the exception of some lacquer wear. Super fun horn! Ryan Kisor is known to improvise on this horn. It still has many years of playing ahead of it though! Valves are best with a thicker oil like Berp Bio #3.
Unlike the earlier models this horn takes a modern cornet receiver making it far more applicable for most players.
Sold with the original case in fair condition (Case#7) but no mouthpiece.
There are a few small dents and dings, and the horn has been chem cleaned here at ACB.
Quick valves that play well with thicker oils, valves are a bit noisy due to the metal valve guides.
No case or mouthpiece included
