Description

This Adams A1 is in amazing condition! The silver plate is in great shape save for some minor scratching. There is a small ding in the bell, and one on one of the 2 tuning slides, but otherwise the horn looks great. Save a ton off of the price of a new Adams A1 with this instrument!

This trumpet has a ML bore of .460 (11.7mm) and is all-around trumpet with a particular nod towards the crossover player who demands an extremely versatile instrument. Developed in collaboration with US-based trumpeter Trent Austin the horn features a warm sound when played at a softer dynamic with good overall sound dispersion and colors. Once you push the instrument volume-wise the horn becomes more refined and energized.

Delivered with two tuning slides

The A1 is available with a conical and a cylindrical tuning slide. Both sound distinguished. The conical sounds more compact and bright. It is also easier to play than the cylindrical slide. The cylindrical makes the sound of the horn broader. You have to work harder, but you get a more robust sound and free blowing horn in return.

    Adams A1 v. 1

Posted by Alex Peschell on 10th Feb 2022

Just got this horn a couple weeks ago while putting my other horn on consignment. Needed a more all around horn than my other horn. This one is not only a huge deal price wise, its a really good playing horn. Josh and Nate were super helpful with helping me decide on this over a couple in similar price range. Would I like the v. 2 horn that is in this vid - yes! But the subtle differences are not really worth the extra $1,500 for me, this v. 1 has everything I'm looking for in a horn. Good balance of 'brightness vs. softness', highly playable. Plus the 2 tuning slides are really nice to have options for the overall sound pallette. Plus they included a very nice Adams gig bag with the horn, and a couple other extras. Thanks for the great buying process, and anyone reading this I trust you will have a similar experience! Now, to get a chance to play on a gig.... :)
