Description
These Japanese-made Yamaha 2330 cornets are a great way to get into cornet playing. They're a great value for the money! This is a pre-owned horn with some signs of use and repair. The brace has been re-soldered to the mouthpiece receiver. The leadpipe has several small dents. The leadpipe has some bending. The leadpipe has an indentation at at the pinky hook. The tuning slide has a couple small dents, as does the outer upper leg of the tuning slide (causes a slight catch when trying to push the slide all the way in). The knuckle joints into the third valve have small dents. The third valve slide assembly is slightly misaligned relative to the valve block, but the slide moves smoothly. The second valve slide crook has a small ding. The bell bend has a couple dents, and there's a small ping on the bell throat.
The bell flare looks good, and there is no evidence of repairs to the bell. There are no signs of redrot in the leadpipe. Valves and valve slides feel good. Case is in good condition overall, with great hinge and latch function. With a little TLC, this horn has a great life ahead of it. Get started on cornet today!
