The XO 1632 is the culmination of two years of collaborative projects with world-renowned trombone player John Fedchock. Its distinct character is entirely based on his specifications and preferences. It's an extremely lightweight, well balanced trombone. The gold brass bell has an 85% copper content, and has been torch annealed. The nickel hand slide has been oven annealed. Combined with a .5" bore and a very thin bell wire, these things give the horn a warm sound and a quick response. The slide is super lightweight for extra agility. All excess weight has been stripped from the horn, even going so far as using a trumpet-style water key. Anything that didn't serve a specific musical purpose was removed. It's a no-nonsense design that's extremely efficient. The bracing positions make it an easy, comfortable horn to hold. The overtone series is well defined and the intonation is impeccable. The horn has excellent resonance and a very live bell that maintains great control.
This is a pre-owned horn in great condition. There are a few pings in the outer slide that we will have removed before shipment.
