It's impossible to know the date of this Getzen 800 Eterna cornet (many records were lost in a devastating fire at the factory) but based on the serial number and some design features we can be confident it's a fairly early example of the Eterna cornet. This is a classic, American-made cornet. The silver plating is in good condition aside from some light scratching and a small spot of wear under the leadpipe. Valve compression is excellent (Getzen makes amazing valves). There are some dents and dings around the horn. There are a few spots of redrot developing in the leadpipe (you can see the characteristic bubbling of the silver plate) but no leaks. Eventually the leadpipe will need to be patched or replaced, but with good maintenance practices that may be years down the road.
This would be a great choice if you'll be playing in a British style brass band or want to level up your cornet solo game!
No case or mouthpiece included.
