Check out this cool flugelhorn from Callet, the Jazz model! This is a medium-large bore horn (which is fairly large for a flugel) with a really cool wrap on the valve slides and straight through ports between the valves (similar to the Adams F5 block or Kanstul 1525). Silver plate is in good condition overall, although you can tell the horn has seen some use. There's a dent on the third valve slide crook, a ping on the bell bow, and a ding near the pinky hook, but overall this horn is in great condition.
Also has metal valve guides and a heavy trim kit from KGU Brass.
"Utilizing a radically new slide routing, the Callet Jazz Flugelhorn ended the long existing intonation problems inherent in flugelhorns. The new routing, a .460 bore, and the custom 6" bronze bell produces a rich, dark sound with outstanding evenness and superior power in every register, even the high end."
"The Jazz Flugelhorn looks nor plays like any other Flugelhorn! Look at the slides! At first glance, they appear to be missing because they run parallel to the valves and wrap around the bell in a graceful curve, which makes for much better air flow. The radical design makes the Jazz a pleasure to hold. The Valve Assembly is a straight flow thru design. The piston stroke is VERY SHORT so you can really get around those fast runs. More important is the SUPERB INTONATION which combined with the evenness in every register sets THE STANDARD in flugelhorn design! the Bronze 6" Bell produces a dark sound with GREAT CENTER AND FOCUS!"
