Description
Here's a vintage New York Bach American-style straight bell cornet from the late 1940s! There are a few issues to address with a competent restorer to get this horn playing at its best (contact us for a few recommendations). Valve compression is fairly low, even with a heavier oil. The leadpipe has some redrot (see photos) but currently no leaks; you may want to have the leadpipe replaced but it's playable as-is. The bell throat has some damage, and there are several dents along the bell and in the bell flare. There is also some pitting and some lacquer wear. There is a trigger mount point on the first valve slide crook but no other indications this horn had a trigger. Bore size is ML.
