Description
This model exists for the solo player. If you are looking for a wide, warm sound, then look no further! While the 1/YS trumpet is for the commercial player, this horn is the exact opposite. It is inspired by Wynton Marsalis' sound from the Jazz Messengers, which is one of my all time favorite trumpet sounds.
SPECIFICATIONS:
2 Leadpipe - this leadpipe is more open than our 1 leadpipe. It provides a bigger sound, and less resistance. We find that it works quite well with the RB bell.
RB Bell - affectionately nicknamed "Biggie", this bell produces a very wide sound! This bell taper is very unique, and is almost like a scaled up piccolo trumpet bell. It is made of red brass, has a french bead, and 5.5" flare. It is a one piece, side seam bell. It has a huge warm sound that doesn't break up at loud volumes.
Nickel Tuning Slide - This single braced nickel tuning slide provides some stability and precision to the attack. It balances well with the RB bell!
Bronze Z Braces - Our Z braces are made of 1 piece cast bronze, with a wide footprint, paying homage to makers like Calicchio and Benge. They provide great stability, and the bronze give the horn a slightly warmer feel overall.
MAW Valveblock - Wonderfully handcrafted in Germany, the MAW valve block is in general a bit more open than a standard valve set. The notes feel much more connected, more like a rotary instrument.
Finish - The horn pictured here is in a brushed/polished combo lacquer finish. We do offer other finishes, feel free to reach out with any requests when ordering.
