Here's the perfect horn for an advancing student or a comeback player with a budget, a Bach Stradivarius 37 in silver plate! Great option if you're looking for a Bach Stradivarius for under $2000.
This horn was built in the mid 1970s and shows signs of use. Valve compression will be best with a thicker oil. There is some plating wear and pitting at the contact points [fairly smooth feel, not too rough]. There are some spots of redrot developing in the leadpipe and tuning slide, but no leaks. There's a patch where the tuning slide connects to the third valve casing. There has been some repair work on the horn prior to our acquisition, notably the aforementioned patch, some dent work on the third valve dump slide, some work along the length of the bell (especially around the logo), and the top inner pipe of the third valve slide has been reattached.
All the valves and slides feel great, and we have replaced the valve pads with long-lasting synthetic pads. Get the industry standard Bach 37 sound for a fraction of the price of buying a new horn!
