The A4-LT is an ideal choice for the soloist looking for an extremely rich, warm, and fluid sounding horn. It's one of the most popular models in the Adams trumpet line! This horn is a result of extensive collaborative work with Adams Performing Artist Amik Guerra. This pre-owned Custom A4LT has a 5.5" inch one-piece 0.45 gauge sterling silver bell and a heavy chassis with light weight bracing. The lighter trim and bracing -by comparison to the A4- gives the A4LT a little more flexibility and agility than the A4. This horn in the large bore, .470 (12mm). It has Saturn water key on the main tuning slide and the valve caps are wood inlay.
The "LT" denotes that this horn features a Lightweight valve cluster, making the horn more agile and flexible.
Sterling silver is a very versatile material. The general characteristics are the bell is much darker and thicker when played at soft to medium volumes. When this bell is pushed the higher overtones are much more present and the result is a wonderful sound with great “sparkle.”
Overall this pre-owned trumpet is in very good condition. There are some light scratches and signs of use in the finish, including some tarnish. There are a few little blemishes in the finish on the inside of the bell as well. There are no major dings, pings, or dents in the horn. The valves and slides feel great and the horn has very good compression. To build this trumpet new the cost would be over $5300, Since this a pre-owned trumpet that gives you a great chance to get a custom Adams trumpet without the wait time for a custom trumpet and at 40% off the price of new!
