Adams 5-Valve Sonic Euphonium (B-stock) in Silver Plate
AdamsUnique Adams Sonic Euphonium with 5 Valves
You may have heard about this instrument on Dave Werden's forum, or through some other spots on the internet. Adams developed a 5 valve euphonium using the Sonic model. The Sonic Euphonium is well known for its sound, quick response, intonation, and its excellent tone and playability. The standard Sonic is a 3+1, non-compensating euphonium. This innovative 5th-valve-euphonium has an extra rotary valve, think of it like a bass trombone Gb valve. The idea to graft on a Gb attachment/rotary valve between the 3rd valve and the 4th valve on a non-compensating Sonic was the result of a coolberation with a (at the time) member of the Marine Corps Band. The Gb attachment is an independent valve, as it would be on most Bass Trombones. This unique design creates a euphonium that has playability characteristics like a bass trombone. The euphonium has a rich sound, a wide array of fingering options for intonation and extended range, and is free blowing.
This one had some bell damage occur during shipping (which has been beautifully repaired by our friends at Heritage Music in Kansas City - and we must say they did amazing work). That is why it is being listed as a "B-stock".
This euphonium is sold with case but no mouthpiece is included
The Sonic takes a large shank mouthpiece (shop ACB Euphonium mouthpieces by clicking here).
