This is an Olds Recording trumpet made in Fullerton, California in the mid 1970s. It has an ergonomic valve block with the offset second valve, and it's a "balanced" horn with the valve block set farther away from you. You can tell this is a horn someone loved to play, and it's still a great player! There was significant redrot in the tuning slide, so we had the crook replaced with what we believe is an OEM part. We had the original water key transferred to the new crook so you still get the cool vintage trombone-style look. There's also some lacquer wear throughout the horn, and several small dings along the side of the bell. Valves and slides all move easily, and the valve plating looks good. There's some pitting around the contact points.
The horn has some great design elements, with cool bracing, a trombone-style water key, mother-of-pearl inlay on the 1st and 2nd valve slide pull knobs, a 3rd valve trigger, and some nice engraving on the bell.
Here's a video with another Recording that compares this model with the Olds Super Recording:
These horns never last long in the shop, so be sure to pick it up today!
Here's a video of a similar 1953 Olds Recording trumpet we had in the shop last year:
